Ranelagh Results 2023
GCSEs
Ranelagh School has a strong tradition of success at GCSE. In 2023, our provisional attainment 8 score for 2023 is 57.22; in addition, a third of all grades were awarded at grade 7 or higher with 82% of grades awarded at grade 4 or above. In English and Mathematics, 84% of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in both subjects with 27% of students achieving a grade 7 or higher in both. We are immensely proud the hard work of our students and staff, and of our continued success at GCSE.
A-Levels
Once again congratulations go to Year 13 students of Ranelagh School for another super set of results, especially set against the backdrop of the pandemic and the changing national picture with regards to examination results in England. For this cohort, these results are all the more special as the public examinations in 2023 were the first that these students had taken. At Ranelagh, over 25% of grades were awarded at A/A* and 82% of grades awarded at A*-C.
However, the numbers only represent part of the story. The Ranelagh Sixth form offers students the opportunity to make varied choices and enables young people to achieve places at a diverse range of institutions. For example, this year, university courses range from Biology, Engineering, Geography, Law, Medicine, Psychology, Stage Management and Technical Archaeology. Locations include Birmingham, Cambridge, Durham, Leeds and Nottingham.
For those students who have, at this point, chosen not to attend university some will be taking up high-quality apprenticeships, whilst others are going into employment or are taking an opportunity to undertake voluntary work as part of a gap-year.
Timothy Griffith, Headteacher, said “I am so proud of all the students and staff at Ranelagh School. These results are evidence of their dedication, resilience and the amount of hard work that has taken place. I am also thankful for the families that have been so supportive throughout the last couple of years. Today, our whole school community will be celebrating the amazing achievements of these young people and the teachers who taught them. It has been an unprecedentedly tough two years for them all. I’d like to end by simply saying very well done to you all our students who received results today. They are well deserved and I wish you every success for the wonderful future ahead of you.”
We are tremendously proud of our Year 11 and 13 students, their commitment to their studies, their resilience and their achievements. Whatever their future pathways, we send them every good wish for the future.
